The next generation of Google Analytics is here. It’s called Google Analytics 4 or GA4 in short. In this step by step guide, we’ll show you how to upgrade your existing Universal Analytics Property to the brand new GA4 Property & run along with your existing Universal Analytics Property.

Step 01

Go to your Google Analytics Account > Click on Admin > Select your Existing Universal Analytics Property you wish to upgrade to. You’ll see the Upgrade to GA4 option enabled there. Click on that.

Step 02

Click on Get Started Button

Step 03

Below wizard would take you through the upgrade process. Click on Create Property

Step 04

That’s all, the upgrade is completed 🥳 You’ll see the success message as shown in the image below. You also see your new property name along with your new property id.

Click on See your GA4 property

Step 05

You’ll be taken to the below screen. Click on Data Streams

Step 06

Your existing website property will be converted into a stream here. Click on that.

Step 07

A new window would open & give you access to see your stream details.
